Mesa Cab Decision

Ok, I have just about any choice of a Mesa cab, but I'm not too sure witch one I want, I have limited my choices to...

-8x10 Powerhouse

-4x12 Powerhouse

-4x10 Powerhouse w/ 1x15 Powerhouse

I tried them out yesterday and I can't make up my mind. (I will also be getting the M-Pulse 600 with what ever cab I get...)

What cab would you get? and why?

Thanks,

Ben

I auditioned a Big Block 750 with the PH 4x10 and 1x15. Sounded ok, but when I unplugged the 1x15 the sound really opened up (to my ears). It was the quintessential "rock" bass sound. I've been playing a very long time and have a lot of great equipment myself (EA, Epifani...) but the sound was so impressive I nearly bought the BB750 and 4x10 right then and there. My $.02, YMMV...

I had an M-Pulse 600, and currently have a PH 4x10. The 4x10 is an excellent cab. I just upgraded to a BB 750, and man!!!! I love this setup. The next thing I'm going to add is a 2x12. This way, when I play my huge stadium gigs (I wish), I'll be prepared :).

Would you say the Big Block is a better amp than the M-pulse?

I wouldn't call it a "better" amp. It's just a better amp for me. I never really used the parametric eq; just set it once and forgot it. I can get the same tones + the overdrive tones I want, with the Big Block. It's also nice to see a simplified situation of everything. I love it!

Yeah, I played on the BB and It was a great amp I just was amazed by the parametric eq and the compression controls on the m-pulse. I'm just not very big for the overdrive...

I have noticed that a good bit of players use the 2x15 and 2x10, has anyone played on the 2x15 cab?

also.. Has anyone played on the Titan V-12?

I played the 2x15, i loved that 15 sound. i originally wanted a 4x10 2x15 rig, but Mesa's ain't cheap. The shop had a 4x12, played it thru a Genz Benz and a Mesa 600. I loved the clarity and i could "dial in" the bottom end..so I bought the 600 and the 4x12.

don't rule out the 6x10 either. seems to be a big price jump between this and the 8x10, and it's fairly portable. tried the powerhouse 1000 as well and its very cool. i would prefer that over the 4x10+115 as it has the same speaker compliment and would save you a trip.

been thinking of adding a 2x15 to go with the 6x10... and would like to get a pair of 2x12's to stack on top of that...:hiding:
