Mesa Cabinet Crossover Switch

I have a walkabout 1x12 and a SW115. They both have crossover switches- 3k, 4k or 5k. I think I know in principle what they do- 3k sends frequencies 3k and above to the tweeter/horn and so on?

Can anybody explain to me (in the most simple way possible) what the results of these settings are? I'm highly allergic to technical talk. Thanks!

Okay first of all I half way expect you're punking us, but I am gullible so here is what I think.

To my ears 5K is delicate and light (air)... As the knob is adjusted lower it starts to add texture. At 4K (glass) At 3.5K (gank)--fret rattle and string noise for more aggressive biting sound.
