Mesa M6 DI question

Hey guys real quick question I can't find the answer to anywhere...does the di out on the back of the mesa boogie m6 carbine, when in the "post" setting, include any effects in the effects loop? Or is the signal taken before the effects loop, but after the preamp on the boogie?

Oh, nobody would ever do that ;)

I did it once, though, but not with the loop. I decided I wanted some overdrive on the end of this one song, so I turned the gain way up, not realizing that the gain was tied to the XLR out (to be fair this was the first amp I ever used an onboard DI and I was still pretty inexperienced with it). But the soundman came over and we had a little talk ;)

I've had to have that talk a time or two unfortunately.

I had that talk with a broadcast crew that though it was "ok" to pull my main snake's 40 pair multi pin connector during sound check to troubleshoot their problem. The bang could be heard 3 counties away with that system, fortunately the amp racks themselves had limiters.

Bad things do happen.

Sucks even more when you are the one who has to pay for the damage;)

Stupid has no age limits!
Whoa Andy! Slow down a little ;) OK, so that was dumb, but it was ignorance, not stupidity. Stupidity would be doing it again, which I'm proud to say has not happened yet.

(Don't worry...I know you didn't mean anything by it...just having a little fun)

Yeah, I wasn't talking about you of course Jimmy. The guys pulling the mult. were older and should have known better. That could have been a "thousands of dollars" repair, but they were in a hurry and focused only on themselves.

Accidents just happen, this wasn't an accident IMO.

Oh that incident...yeah, right. That's what I get for focusing on myself too much! I think I need to go out and do something and get my head out of my ass for a little while ;) Guess I'll go visit Mom.

Um, no, it was a little lesson about DI's built into amps ;) He was very nice, though...I knew the guy for years before that and I had just gotten the amp like a month before the gig, and nothing blew so it was cool.
