Mesa Venture 2x12 users, I need some help.

very odd. I just took a look at mine (latest 2008 model) and no way is the bar in that position relative to the power plug socket. No issues with being able to plug in the power cord on mine. I wonder how yours got that way. Is it an older model by any chance (not that that would excuse such an odd design error. I'm not even sure how you would take the bar out, it does not look like it's intended to be removable.

btw, too bad you did not see my FS ad here. I am selling my totally clean 1yr old Venture 2x12 for $1k. Oh well. ;)

good luck.

The problem is I had an older venture 2x10 combo and bought and empty 2x12 cabinet to put the head in. When they started making the 2x12 combo the bar on top was set wider and didn't get in the way of the power cable. Now unfortunately I have an old head in a brand new cab, so I'm going to have to find a new option. I called Mesa today and they were nothing but helpful.

ah ah, that explains it. I knew that the original design couldn't be like that. Sure made me go look at mine though :D.

Even a crappy amp manufacturer would not do that intentionally, let alone a very credible maker like Mesa.

Good luck with what ever mod you do. Perhaps you could force an indentation/crimp in the tube to make space for the plug. Maybe a 1/4 radius cut out ? Might critically reduce the structural integrity of the tube though.

good luck.
