Metally sounding strings

pro steels will do it. very grindy. they go dead quite fast though. i use elixir instead for almost as bright and 3 times the life.
dean markley Blue Steels are good too, very bright and a great metallic sound if you eq em right (they do loose a bit after a week or so of solid playing but they are still super bright!).

Klanky, pingy, metallic tone. Use a cabinet with a tweeter and sizzle your ears into oblivion!

What about mids? Do you want present mids or scooped mids?
D'addarios have solid mids, so do Rotos (though they have a short life). Warwick's also have a very solid tone. Their EMPs are scooped sounding, but very bright for coated strings. The B string is amazing, if you want a B that is.

Back in the day I played GHS Super Steels. Very bright and metallic sounding. If you're playing a fiver, you're out of luck.. It appears GHS does not make 5 string sets of the Super Steels. IMO, the Pro Steels have a fatter tone, more like DR Fat Beams, than anything really bright..
