Methods for bass tone for ElectroPop/Dance Music

We are trying to include some electronic songs to our list, so the band expects me to make some "synth" noises for supporting the keyboard.

Our keyboard player uses a keyboard with midi output, connects it to a notebook for playing patches made by using "reason" or "nexus" and a sends the output to the mixer via an external sound card.

Is there any effects pedal which I can import patches in it and play my bass like a keyboard when necessary? This pedal should accept some pre-made patches or enable me to use features like sidechain for instance, oscillators, frequence, resonance etc.

Would a Roland V-bass or an equivalent make any sense?

Head over to the fx forum- this is a question that gets asked often, and the answer is tricky. There are bass synth fx pedals, lots of 'em- BUT..nothing will sound quite like a synth bass besides a keyboard synth. Consider a DSI MoPho keyboard- which is fairly inexpensive, but hugely awesome.
