do you know what kind of microphone (and eventually brand and model) was used for amplifying doublebass live during the '50 and '60? in other words, what was the standard at that times (if there was a standard...)?

Double Bass mic for live use in the '50 and '60

In the sixties I used a Reslo ribbon mic on a stand about 100cm from the G f-hole. I used a HiFi amp and a purpose built 18" speaker. There was surprisingly little feedback. I thought it sounded great although a friend recently told me it sounded a bit horrible! Compared to today it probably did.
