Double Bass mic for solo performance

hi,
what do you suggest as a mic for amplifying my bass in solo performance in medium venues, when just the acoustic sound is not enough?
Dynamic, condenser, ribbon?
Brands and models?

Depends on your budget. Need foldback or monitors on stage? Strictly foh? Planning on using a h-clamp or prefer a clip on? There are a million mics out there. I have almost 40! And they all work but it depends on specific requirements.

My live preference is an eap in conjunction with an atm450 on a h-clamp. Stupid loud levels can be achieved.

Ribbons are where it is at. Get a Troll. Don't worry about ever upgrading. Unless you can afford a stupidly expensive vintage ribbon that has been overhauled. Buy a Cloudlifter or Fethead and call it good.
