Don't hear much about Michael Henderson but he's a heavy playing with Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and many others. I remember the story from the 70's that Miles heard him playing in Stevie Wonder's band and said 'I'm taking your f###ing bassist'.
He's a singer/songwriter too and that may have blurred his achievements as a player.
