+1, I love his body of work from Trilok Gurtu to Salif Keita etc.
I bought that album when it came out (I knew of Mokhtar Samba from his work with Salif Keita) but haven’t listened to it for years. Thanks for the reminder - I’ll have to revisit it.
It sometimes takes me a while to cycle through my CDs and I broke Mokhtar Samba out today after too long a time. The album is filled with great bassist including Guy Sangue, Etienne Mbappe and Linley Marthe. It was Keita's & Sixun's work that turned me on to Alibo.
