Has anyone ever heard this group? I just picked up their Iron Leg CD, which is a collection of studio, live, outtakes, etc.

I've been on a funky kick lately, and these guys are right up there with the Meters and the JBs - big Hammond B3 sound, "wocka-chicka" guitar and smooth, funkyass bass. I'm really enjoying it.

From what I can tell they were pretty active in the Austin TX scene in the early seventies.

Anyone know anything about the band, or more specifically, the bass player?

Hi my name is Gilbert Rivera and I was about 18 yrs old when our band gained some national notoriety. I will tell you that I learn whatever I did from my counterparts e.i. the JB's, Booker T. & the MG's, Meters, Archie Bell & the Drells but the greatest was James Jamerson of the Funk Brothers.
