Micro POG killer??

Got super excited until I read thru the thread!

I'd love a microPOG aside from the (somewhat) awkward power requirement. I suppose I'm up for using it's separate adaptor, but I have to be honest it's somewhat deterred me

Seeing Steven Jenkins rock out his microPOG with the octave-up only on made me believe that I absolutely NEED an octave-up!

So I'm having a clone of "The Pearl OC-07" built for me as we speak, I'm really hoping that serves as my microPOG killer!

The Pearl sounds good, but it's monophonic and I believe the octave-up is not clean, it's like an octave fuzz.

Hoping that blasting some lead-guitar solos on my jazz bass with the pearl will put out my octave-up gas! If I feel the need to get clean and jazzy playin chords, well, I'll just hafta break down and buy a microPOG too ;)

(Thanks God his wife isn't on TB)

Just wanted to update a touch. Taurus is coming out with a new line of their pedals, the Mk-2. They seem smaller, have mostly the same controls, and are 20% cheaper than their Silver Line counterparts. Additionally, it appears that they can be run at 9vDC (up to 12), and have what's denoted on the pedals as "Polarity Auto Detect." I don't know if that means it will take both center positive or negative, or what, but may help solve some of the powering issues already discussed. At ~$260, the price point is a little better. Certainly a ways to go before becoming a killer, but perhaps a bit more competitive now.

Am I right in thinking that you can't eliminate the clean signal in this like you can with the Micro Pog? Definitely NOT a Micro Pog killer if that's the case...

In the Mk-2 version, you can dial out your clean signal, but not in the current version.

Here's a pic from Premier Guitar.

Interesting, especially since the Dexter came out not long ago. A smart move though.
Thanks for the update Milo!

Price point is still a little rich for my blood, but the smaller size, and especially the addition of the dry level control makes the pedal very appealing.
(if only they'd also chucked that peculiar face plate design... but maybe that's just me...)

These effects don't 'track' anything, they resample your input signal, so the latency is purely processing time and that processing time will be the same regardless of the input frequency.

In short, it doesn't matter which notes you play. Presumably he was playing high up because the -1 octave would be inaudible otherwise.

I had a Micro POG and immediately returned it after trying it out. My biggest issue was that it is not true-bypass, and I could absolutely hear a difference in my dry signal when the pedal was in the signal chain. Some people may not mind that, but I couldn't stand it. The POG2 is true bypass, so I'm sure I wouldn't mind that pedal.
