MICRO-rigs of doom?....

Kala Rumbler Ubass into G-K MB112ii had no problem keeping up this weekend in my classic country band. Use a Sansamp for a little dirt/boost.
For small gigs with drums, I usually use my Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-8T or 10T combos (6kg and 8kg). For even smaller gigs without drums, I would plug the GB STL 3.0 amp into my Soundelirium 6micro (5kg). Sometimes, if there is a PA support, I would only take my PJB Ear Box with the GB amp (2kg). And smallest of the smallest set up is my EBS MicroII preamp into my earphones...
(under 1kg).

I've replaced the TC head with the FAB Quilter BB800 (can't find the photos just now)! WOW! What an amp!
It's amazing to see the changes in 8 years from resurrecting this old thread. What was considered "Micro" 8 years ago is actually mini now. I own a GK MB200 as a backup and destined to be for home practice. I have a "mini rig of doom" with the following setup: Two EX110's and a GK MB500. The pair of speakers is very loud and surprisingly full sounding and the GK MB500 is very powerful. I've played with some loud bands and never turned up past halfway.
I now use a new Ibanez SR300EL instead of the SR500, I love the new PowerSound pickups by Ibanez. I think they're actually Nordstrand designed OEM's for Ibanez.
For my GK MB200, I'm thinking of going two different directions. First, another Eden EX110, only 4 ohms. The second choice, which I'm really drawn to, is the EA 110 Wizzy. It's supposed to be quite a little powerhouse and people who have used them claim they handle low notes very well. I really like wizzy speakers. The whizzer cones make the high end sound very crisp and clean. So it's going to be either another EX110 or this guy:
By the way there are a couple newer threads called Mini Rigs of Doom and Nano Rigs of Doom and what some other TB'ers are doing for small rigs is pretty amazing.

Here is my 'Micro Rig of Doom (doom..doom...doom)!' (you get the picture). Two Michael Arnopol 1x8 cabs.
The specs are:
17" tall, 10 1/2" wide, by 15(long side)/9 3/4(short side)" deep. Keep in mind that the depth decreases as you get to the top. Speaking of which--this cab makes a killin' floor wedge.
21 1/2# weight (add 1# for Ciare and 2# for powered)
Power handling 300 watts RMS continuous, 500 watt peak.
Sensitivity 92 db I would say that you should have at least 150 watts to adequately drive a single MAS18. Keep in mind that if you add a second MAS18 the sensitivity rises to 98db (4 ohms)
Impedance 8 ohms
Frequency response -3db at 35 hz to 14khz. (adding the Ciare supertweeter brings it past 20khz)

Handle on the back that will not interfere with feet on back
4 feet on bottom, and 4 on the back.
Presence Boost Switch
Powering these bad boys with a Demeter Minnie 800d. Using an Arkham Abyss Pre Amp for some tube goodness.
This cab will hold its own with most 1x12's out there. Great modular rig for a city/commuting bassist. Covers the whole spectrum beautifully.

Phenomenal! It may just be the most musical and best sounding head I've owned. Prob mostly due to the Mike Pope preamp front end. Just amazing!
I have heard/read great things about Trickfish... One could be in my future...

I've heard these. The low end and the overall volume of just one of these is amazing - literally jaw-dropping.
The cabs weigh around 21 pounds each. The bass is a Paul Lairat Stega bass. Really loving this setup.
@Stumbo recommended we resurrect this thread. I think it is more relevant today than it was when it started! Long live the micro rigs of DOOOOOM.....
