midi pedal board

Hey,
is anyone running a midi pedal board to enhance the bands' sound? Like Geddy Lee?
I'm going to continue playing bass, and want to play keyboard sounds triggered off a pedal keyboard. I'm just getting started, and looking for anyone's comments if they're currently doing it.

Foot tilt can sweep filters. It's good for pads and you control the filter sweep.
Many video's on you tube including how to set it up with Ableton live to trigger clips, samples, etc.

Ok, so this thing is really cool. I'm a total novice to midi, but I had to start somewhere. We're using it during practices, with Mainstage. We'll eventually move to Ableton. But for now we're using it for organ parts to fill space during the guitar solos. Cool!
No problem using Ableton on the desktop, but my iPad air isn't recognizing the 12 step yet. I'm pretty sure it's an ID10T error, but I'll let you know how I get this resolved.
One last note: there's the whole coordination thing; background vox, bass part, and now I need to step on a specific button at the right time. I have instant respect for anyone doing this.

I am searching old forums about this. Any luck connecting it to your iPad and what software on your iPad do you use? Trying to decide if I'm going to get one to fill in space in a 3 piece but really only feel like bringing an iPad instead of a laptop.
