Mighty Mite necks?

im looking at the mighty mite mm2909 neck for my fender jazz bass. theyre website says that they're not making the necks in the u.s. anymore but they're still using u.s. and canadian woods. are these good trusted necks? if not what kind of replacement neck is good? (it'd be so much easier if fender could just make some maple fretboards stock on some of their basses )

They're asian (surprise, surprise). They say the wood is Canadian and northern Michigan stock. I've used them a few times. They seem to run a little on the wide side at the heel. Not bad for the price. I usually only have to dress the fret ends to get them comfy.

what do you mean by dress the fret ends? and also is there any replacement necks that are licensed by fender? like fender puts their signature on em?

The ends of the frets are usually a little rough(or stick out over the edge) as you run yer fretting hand over them. Easy enough to clean up with a fret-dressing file. I've had to dress the ends on much pricier necks as well. No biggie at under a hundred bucks shipped on Flea-bay. The "licensing" is for the shape of the headstock and the neck will usually be marked "Licensed by Fender" somewhere on it. As to "licensed" or aftermarket replacement necks with the "Fender" logo on the headstock, nope(at least not legally). Those would be from Fender only.
