Details

In an effort to simplify things, I've decided to focus on playing mostly four string basses. So I'm putting up for sale my custom Lull TC5.

It's similar to a stock TC5 in that it has a "J" style body, Aguilar OBP-3 preamp, Hipshot D-Tuner and a mini toggle switch to access the mid range cut/boost.

What makes it a custom is the fact that it has 24 frets, Nordstrand BigRig Dual Coils, 16.5mm string spacing at the bridge and a custom neck carve.

The bass originally came with Nordstrand Jazz Bar pickups. These are single coil Jazz pickups in a humbucker housing. They lean way more towards the vintage end. I wanted something more modern so I installed a set of Nordstrand BigRig Dual Coils. They really transformed the sound of the bass. Think like a warm, modern sound. The bass will come with both sets of pickups.

It is currently strung low E to high C. I have gigged with this bass and had no problem cutting thru the mix.

Specifications:
Ash Body
Maple Neck/Fretboard
34” Scale
24 Frets
8.1 Pounds
Nordstrand BigRig Dual Coils / Jazz Bars (both sets included)
Aguilar OBP-3 PreAmp
16.5mm String Spacing At Bridge
Custom Neck:
12” Radius
Width: Nut = 1.77mm; 24th fret = 2.67mm
Thickness = 1st fret = .767mm; 12th fret = .846

The bass is in excellent condition. It will ship in a basic "slip cover" gig bag.

The price of the bass in $2,900 via PayPal which included shipping to the continental US.

I'm not sure how it was originally cut but I've used the bass strung both ways with no problems.

I was also asked about string spacing at the bridge. The saddles on this Hipshot bridge are adjustable side to side. Centered, they are right about 16.5mm. Adjusted outward, the spacing would be somewhere between 17mm and 17.5mm.

Beautiful video Aviv. I remember listening to that prior to buying the bass.

I'm guessing those pickups are the FatStacks which came stock on the bass. Those never made it to me. When I got the bass, it had Jazz Bars installed. They gave it a definite vintage "J" bass sound. Looking for something more modern, I installed BigRig Dual Coils based on a recommendation from the folks at Nordstrand.

I am including both the BigRig Dual Coils and Jazz Bars with the sale of the bass. Modern or vintage, you're covered either way.

If someone here still has this bass and ever wants to move it I’d love to talk!

I remember that bass. Now why did I sell it? Oh yeah, because I'm an idiot.

It was a keeper. Kind of wish I had it back.

Good luck finding it.
