Greetings, bass shoppers. Here's something you don't see every day - a Mike Lull short-scale bass made while he was still around and running the shop. Apparently, he resisted making short scales for years, but eventually worked to come up with one he liked... then he loved them! This beautiful example is pretty close to mint condition... some light scratching on the pickguard keeps it from being so, along with a pinprick-sized mark on the lower horn. Other than that, I can't find a mark on any wood or metal part... and the wood is gorgeous! Lovely grain, and a perfecty-executed three-tone sunburst. It plays great and sounds amazing - the Fralins are fantastic. Everything works as it should - truss rod moves, action can get super low, fretwork is impeccable. If you want a classic-looking premium short-scale bass, this is the one.

$3500 $3200 shipped CONUS (PayPal F&F), $3300 $3000 in-person meet-up. NO TRADES

The bass will come in a hard case in great condition that fits the bass perfectly. The Certificate of Ownership signed by Mike Lull will be in the case.

Bonus story about this case - I bought a PT4-30 at the shop in December of 2022 that had the same dimensions as this bass (that's the one I'll be keeping,) and Spencer Lull sold it to me with a full-sized branded gig bag. He said he'd lost his short-scale bag provider and didn't have an alternative at the time. When I got the bass home I looked for and found this case from, of all places, Rondo Music; it's a perfect fit. I took a pic of the bass in the case and sent it to Spencer, and he said he was going to buy out all of the cases Rondo had. Sure enough, I was in his shop last summer and he showed me a stack of these cases in the back! So, this case is the same ones new ones from the shop are sent with.

Can you indicate the string spacing at the bridge?
And what exactly are the lengthwise dark stripes on the fretboard?
Thanks very much.

RQ, the bass is packed, as it's been traded, so I can't measure the spacing, I'm afraid. The "dark stripes" are shadows from the stings - the pix were taken on a sunny day!
