MIM Fender Jazz wiring issue?

I borrowed an 2004 MIM Jazz which has a Dimarzio in the bridge and stock in the neck. With the bridge volume on full, when I bring up the neck p/u volume to 9 the sound abruptly thins out then on 10 it comes back with both pick-ups on full. The pots were just recently changed.

Anyone know if this has something to do with the wiring, another issue, or is this just the nature of the Jazz bass?

It may be a phase issue, although those usually manifest when both pickups are at the same volume. Try switching the green and red wires on the bridge pickup.

According to the DiMarzio wiring diagram, the green and red cables are soldered correctly.

I had a case where the bridge pickup was internally wired backward and swapping leads as suggested fixed mine. In the very least it is free to try
