I recently acquired a Kala Ubass. Going to be traveling and this allows me to bring a bass along. For local travel I have a pig noose 30. Reasonably light and runs on battery so I don't need to worry about the availability of a plug. The Pignose and most any smaller amp is still too big to bring on a flight. I was thinking of trying one of the mini amps. I know they don't do much, but might help the Ubass to be heard in a small jam session. Any advice?

It's pricey but a Phil Jones Double 4 will definitely allow you to jam with guitars and a light-handed drummer IME. The Markbass Micromark 8" version will do the same.....not sure if the 6" would cut it. The double 4 fits easily into a regulation carry on bag; that's why I got one.
I have a Phil Jones BG100 that would hold up with a Cajon. I don't know about drums, but you could most certainly carry it on an airplane. Comes with a nice bag too. The headphone amp is amazing. I use it pretty much for practice but I bought it for the same kinds of situations you are considering. It's very easy to have along for the ride.
