Mini TB153? Advice sought.

Having tried a number of different amps cabs and guitars I finally tried a TB153. It sounds great to me, both solo and in the mix. A good guitar, a quality amp, the TB153 and I am happy.

The only problem is its size. Often we play gigs with very little room and our rehearsal space is also cramped.

Can any one recommend a small cab or combo that will replicate the TB153 sound and feel?

I have a MarkBass cmd121p. The size and weight are great but the sounds aren't what I am looking for.

I dont need huge volume, just the 'voice' of the TB and transportability of the cmd121p.

I have searched the site for help but didn't come up with anything.

You have a choice. 1) A properly sized cab to the driver so it sounds good. 2) A cab that is too small for the speaker to sound that way. 3) A cab designed to be "smaller" and sound deep but eats power to do it.
Pick one.

Yup. The tb153 is a copy of the fEARful 15/6 and in the fEARful family the 12/6 is the little sister with huge tone in a smaller cab approx 24x16x15. They weigh b/n 35 - 40LBS and you could likely build a lighter one than using lighter wood like Italian Poplar. The 12/6 sounds remarkably similar to the 15/6 aside from the 15/6 being louder (more speaker surface area) and a bit fuller.

Definitely look into the 12/6. You can either buy one from an Authorized Builder or build your own which is cheaper but more time consuming.

I agree your best bet is the 12/6 . Even the 15/6 has a smaller footprint than the TB153 and would take up less room on stage . The 15/6 is 4" narrower and quite a bit lighter than the TB153 . I had a TB153 and have a 15/6 now and the 15/6 is quite a bit easier to move around . Still if you want that type of sound even smaller the 12/6 is the way to go and with enough power they get quite loud ..
