Double Bass Minimark or Markbass AC101?

I'm a happy owner of the Markbass Mini CMD121P combo. It's a great sounding and very powefull combo - sometimes too powerfull, as a matter of fact. I'd like to have something smaller for gigs where the CMD is a overkill.
I'm thinking of either the Minimark or the AC101, which is one of the Markbass's acoustic combos. These two have the same power (150W into 8ohms) and similar weight (slightly over 20lbs).
Anybody could compare these two (Minimark and the AC101) soundwise?
Thank you!

Hi Jaromir,
The Mark Acoustic amps are designed specifically for acoustic instruments, so you might find that they sound a bit "truer to the source" if you're using an acoustic instrument (I assume you are?)...I don't recommend the Mark Acoustic for electric bass. If you use both acoustic and electric (or just electric), the Minimark would be tonally more versatile.
Keep in mind that the Mark Acoustic has two channels, EQ and digital reverb and chorus... the Minimark just has the VLE and VPF filters, but does have an aux input and headphone output.
Hopefully this helps a bit! Best to hear for yourself, if possible...
cheers,
Peter

Wow! Could you have ever in your wildest dreams imagined that a 1x12 combo that weighs under 30lbs would be considered overkill? I cant wait to get a CMD121P!

The CMD121P is truly AWESOME - I never turn it up past 1/3 for most playing, and have a 1x15" cab if I ever need more for a larger gig. Always sounds great, and I can put it in the trunk of my car - standing up!

Kudos, Markbass
