Missing saddle intonation screw and i didnt notice

Thought id shar this, as its somewhat funny.
Was doing some routine maintenence this morning, and noticed my p bass didnt have The intonation saddle screw. I think its been without the screw for months now. No idea how it didnt go completely out of intonation.
Think its a sign i need to think about selling some stuff. Maybe not this bass. But some other stuff for sure.
Whats everyone else think?

Funny thing is, this basically happened to me too about two weeks ago, also on a P bass. Luckily, my ashtrays held the screw and the spring in place. I only noticed when I looked more closely. Interestingly enough though, the intonation was still spot on.

I have absolutely no idea what caused this.

Vibration. An electric bass is a big 'ol vibrating machine, constantly trying to shake itself apart. Screws can and will work their way out and fall off.

Many times those saddles stay put, provided there's a witness point in the string to help it stay located.
