Mister Ed Wasn't a Horse?

I was checking out Snopes (for the first time) and I came across some interesting stuff.

One that completely blew me away was the fact that Mister Ed was not really a horse...he was a zebra.

I'm not sure if this topic has ever been brought up before, but it really amazed me. I thought for sure he was a Palomino.
