Mixing software?...a little help over here.

Ok guys, im with this band. we've gotten a couple songs together, we've recorded all the tracks separately, they're all saved on my computer. any suggestions for free software i can use to combine all the tracks and such? I've already tried reaper, it doesn't work for my computer.

what did you use to record everything with?

a 1/4" to 1/8" converter into my computer. then sound recorder. yes i know its bad, but im a broke highschool student. im excited to have anything at all up there.

How did you plan to keep everything in sync, I have a bad feeling that nothing will sync up. I would download copy of Audacity it's free and works good. Then have Audacity laydown a click track, then do your songs over. Having a click everyone will be hearing the same beat.
