Double Bass Mixing some strings, opinion?

This is a very simple thing, that I just want opinion on from you guys.

I Have BelCantos on my Calin Wultur, and DANG they sound amazing. Earlier, I had EP's on my bass. I liked the pizz, but it was way too bright for my bass, and orchestra playing. But, I do miss that E string compared to the BelCantos. Would it be weird if I used EP's E string, and Kept my BelCantos?

On my bass, the Bel E was also too dark for pizz and being lighter tension, I couldn't "dig in" when I wanted to. So instead, I use a Spiro 3885.5W 3/4 Weich E string. It blends perfectly with the Bel ADG in tone, tension and volume. YMMV, but it's a good mix.

I like the Spiro Idea for the E string, because the BelCanto E really lacks on pizz .. Thanks! More opinions are welcome

Not weird. You just have to try stuff like that, though. Your bass, you hands, your ears. Let us know how it turns out.
