Modded german warwick fortress for 150$ worth it?

If you buy it and have regrets I'll be glad to take it off your hands the next time I'm in Victoria.
You can't really lose paying $150 for that. I would think that you could recoup your investment by just selling the pickups and hardware.
As a case study, there's an example of a guy spending a lot of time and money turning a $700 bass into a $150 bass.

Without a doubt, jump on it. It's still (likely) a great playing bass and you can double your $$ parting it out if you can't live w it. You can also replace it w/the MEC humbuckers to get it back to 'closer to normal'.

I'm not a big fan of the looks myself, but if everything else is in good order, for that price..........I'd say take it, if you're interested.
You're a fool if you don't buy it. Better yet, he says he'll take trades, try and trade him so you're not out any cash. No matter what you will come out way ahead.
Is that a normal price for your area? It seems kinda low even with the ugly mod. May want to make sure there's nothing wrong with it.
I would say plug it in and make sure it makes the right kind of sounds, first thing. Eyeball the neck and see if it has any obvious twists or bumps; also check the fretboard all the way up the neck while it's plugged in to see if there are any problems. You don't want dead areas on the neck and ordinarily you wouldn't have that problem with a Warwick, so if there are any, I don't think you want that bass. At least not as a player.
