Model J series/parallel????

So, I've already ordered a set for my Jazz. Now, a while back a freind helped me wire in a series/parallel push pull pot. He'll be out of town for a while and I'm not so good at soldering (can solder okay but not so good at removing old solder) so I was planning on just snipping wires just short of the pots and soldering wire to wire instead of wire to pot as I've seen discussed in another thread here.

My question is, can I just solder the hot and ground wires to the existing hot and ground wires coming from the pots and it'll still be humbucking in the parallel position on the push/pull? Or will it only be humbucking in the series position on the push pull?

Thanks.

Well, let me ask this...

Dimarzio's site says to solder the red wire from each pup to the middle lug of it's respective volume pot and the green wire to the back of it's respective pot. Is that configuration series or parallel? If it's parallel, what I said above ought to work, right? If Dimarzio's config. is series, my idea might be a problem? I'd like to keep this as simple as possible but I'd like to keep the push/pull, series/parallel pot, if possible to do without a whole lot of hassle. If necessary, I guess I can undo the series/parallel mod, put the old volume pot back in and just wire it up like Dimarzio says. Thanks in advance for any help.

I already have it wired series/parallel, not with a seperate switch but with a push/pull volume. My two questions:

Will keeping that configuration affect the humbucking ability of the J's (will it humbuck in both parallel and series)?

Is the wiring configuration that Dimarzio describes on their site for installing their pickups (see second post) parallel or series?

The way Dimarzio says to wire them in looks just like the way my Jazz was stock, before I did the series/parallel mod. That being the case, it seems to me that the J's WILL be humbucking in either position of my push/pull knob. But I'd like to know for sure before I proceed.

Thanks.

The model J's are wired to be used as a humbucker.

No, it will not affect the humbucking of the P/U's. If it does effect anything, it shouldn't be too significant. It will humbuck in both positions.

I am reading their 4Conducter.pdf (see attached), and has instructions for parallel and series. I have mine wired in series.
