[Mods: please delete 2x post] X32 IEM send very boomy

i just played Friday night and took a line from an X32 to a Senn EW300 IEM and mixed from my iPad. Everything sounded really good except my bass, which was very boomy in-ear when moved the fader on my send. If I pushed it up, I got some clarity, but with a lot of thump. Source was the DI from a RH450, which I've used before with no issues. 64Audio A4's, which I use a lot and never had this in prior use of a X32.

Did I need a high pass filter on my send or something else? Any insight appreciated.

Do you have access to the X32, or was it FOH?
Do you know which buss (or output) was being used to send your feed from the X32?
If it's from one of the standard [16] output busses, those have a 5-band EQ (with adjustable Q) available on each buss. The same applies to the 4 matrix mixes available.
It's also possible that your DI feed into the X32 is being EQ's so the FOH signal fits the room - which could be adding the boom, as that (if no EQ is applied to your IEM feed) could be adding to, or causing what you hear.
My recommendation is to EQ out the mud you are hearing on the X32 IEM - as you may have no control over the bass channel settings.
But not having more details in your OP makes these generic suggestions.<shrug>?
