I'd guess early 90's for the 6-string. Earliest I've seen was '91? I haven't seen a serial number for one in the 80's (yet) but yeah, Geoff would know.

The earliest video I have seen of Phil Lesh playing a Modulus 6-string was 12/31/82.
You're off by nearly a decade.
That sounds more plausible. I remember having a printed color pamphlet from Modulus Graphite circa 1986 or '87 that had a picture of a gorgeous bass labeled a "Quantum 6" (which I believe turned out to be Geoff's personal bass...red narra top, three Bartolini pickups with individual on/off mini-switches, and a single master volume control).
Yes, the question was about a Quantum.

First one around, no later than ‘82. I’ll try and dig up a picture of the first one.Paging @GeoffGould
You are right, but the first one I made was a maple top, not the fancy one that I have. The first one was stolen and eventually returned.Hey Geoff, I always thought the first Modulus 6-string was the one you made for yourself. If it was a different bass I would love to see it, great if you can find pics.
