Because of my lazy, boneheaded bass handling, I have scratches on the neck of my bass where it came into contact with a zipper on the interior "headlock" strap. If you carelessly put the bass into the bag and the zipper is on top of the neck rest (rather than moving the strap out of the way) then the metal can dent and scratch the neck.

I will be more careful now, but I was wondering if there is anyone else who has done the same thing. I was considering writing to Mono to suggest that if they are considering any product updates, that they consider another type of closure for the little accessory pocket to make it more bonehead-proof.

    Any thoughts?

  2. No I always just use the strap to tie the neck in properly. I can't imagine why you'd pay for this bag and not use it properly. That is really super lazy, and I say that as a person not known for being at all "proactive" myself.

I agree that it would not make sense to not use the most important design feature- and I do strap the neck in every time I transport the bass, but failed to do so last weekend between practice sessions. That's all it takes- lesson learned.

  4. Sorry it happened. Also, there an excessive number of zippered compartments and cubbyholes in the bag. I would never use the one that's on that internal strap, as there are many others that seem more convenient. But I always use the strap - I may not zip the bag shut, say for temporary storage, but I always use that strap.

Haven't done that. I always make sure to strap down the neck prior to transport. Actually thought the compartment on that strap was rather dumb. I know I'll never use it for anything so couldn't see the point of it.

    Like having the strap though.

Sorry for your scratched up neck.

I've always used the strap as it's intended and I've never had an issue with it coming in contact with my necks.

I agree that it's kind of useless. I have an emergency stash of picks in there, about the only thing I can think of that would fit and not damage the bass.
