Monolith Magma - who's got one?

he's a one man army, and he builds things one at a time as they are ordered, whether its a cab, a pedal, or what have ya... the Magmas took a little over 2 months, so dont be alarmed Wade will do ya right. He was about a week behind with the Magmas from the time he said they would ship... such is life... It will be worth the wait.

To all that wonder where their gear may be? It is a slow operation and I am doing the best I can to move as much as I can. We are currently restructuring a few things around and I am thankful because things have gotten crazy slammed especially this past few months. It seems there is not enough time in the day to do everything all at once.
I started this business while in engineering school and now it is a full time gig. If I don't get to you right away it's really just because I am slammed. Yes! I will serve you right without a stone unturned.
Bear with me and we will get this done, thanks everyone for all of your patience and look forward to working with you all in the future! I currently in Seattle on a much needed two day break! But nonetheless, no rest for the wicked...

Best wade

Thanks for the support! This is true! But hopefully things will continue to stay steady and all operations will pan out like glass.

Plus, this is the product launch of both products so it will take some time to get everything aligned as a habit.

That and the initial rush of orders will probably be bigger than the future ongoing demand. What I've heard so far says it'll be worth the wait.

For those not at the party over in the Stoner/doom bassists thread....

here are some MAGMA samples.

First:

Using only 1 channel, various drive settings and then a few different EQ settings as well.

Second:

Using two channels together, first the dirty tone from channel A on its own then I blend in a clean tone from channel B and play with the EQ on channle B. Did not really adjust channel A at all just some volume changes here and there.

Here is the recording chain.

4001 Ric > MAGMA > CROWN XLS1000 > Ampeg 210AV > Heil PR-40 > Sony Soundforge > 320kpbs MP3.

Apologies in advance for the lame riff. I suggest a good set of headphones so that you can hear the subtleties.

The tonal possibilities are endless with this preamp. once you understand how the tone controls and volume interact it becomes quite intuitive.

Great job with this Wade!

Sorry to dredge up some bad memories for peeps...but I'm newish to the whole Pre/Power amp thing. I have an Ashly SC-40 that I run into a Mesa Strategy 400. Really interested in trying out an Alembic F1x. This Magma REALLY had my interest piqued. Obviously, that's out of the question. I doubt a refurbished one will pop up used anytime, soon. Any other preamps I should check out. I know this is a Sunn Beta clone....what other preamps compare?
