Early Moollon Classic p ...serial 919. It sounds and plays better than the 63 P I used to own. These basses are ridiculous, but I do not play four string P's these days and this one deserves to be played. Has a light relic job that looks amazing. I did my best to show how incredible the horizontal lines look in the relic job...beautiful. This is the best sounding P I have ever played. Comes with a nice Gator transit bag in perfect shape. The wait for these basses now are years, but no need to wait and you will not find one better.

Will consider a trade plus cash. Looking for a Sadowsky Metro PJ 5 or Valenti/Loprinzi PJ 5 (vintage not modern)…not big on maple fretboards. I’ll listen to anything else of course, but not looking for much. Trade value would be 4k. Multiple bass trade would need to be in my favor a good bit (because I would likely be selling them).

A bit too late for us to report in this thread, but as transparency regarding actual details of pre-owned Moollon bass specs has become an issue as of late (especially on Reverb), we'd just like to kindly clarify for future reference to the purchaser, that the original customer for SN 919 did not order the bass with a body aging/weather checking "relic job" upcharge option; the wear as seen in the above is all natural and due to changes in temperature and exposure to the elements, affecting the very thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Note that SN 919 was completed in October 2014, and the overwhelming majority of Moollon basses that actually had customer-ordered body aging (less than three dozen made, as of 6/2023) date from 2015 on.

Thanks for the info. That is amazing that it’s natural. I had a 75 jazz bass that was ALOT older that was like that…but it’s the only other bass I’ve ever seen. In fact (as you probably know)…the horizontal lines that look that way are very hard to replicate…so I assumed it was relic’d. Either way, inhave actually paid to have a bass look this way. I will say it’s an amazing sounding, looking and playing bass that rivals my 63p I used to own (except it’s lighter)! Thanks!!

There is a possibility that it could have been relic’d afterwards also. I have owned a ton of vintage and new gear (made to look vintage), and the consistency of the lines, etc…if it occurred natural…it would be like winning the lottery…it just doesn’t happen like that with that uniform consistency.
