Moonlight Sonata Help

Ya I thought this would be a great song to start learning tapping too only problem is the tab confuses me.
http://www.stuarthamm.net/tabs/stuart_hamm-moonlight_sonata.btab
It seems a lot different than this

The way I usually see how songs are tapped is like this

G-12--5h9---14--7h10---16--9h12-|-16--12p9---14--10p7---12--9p5---
D-------------------------------|---------------------------------
A-------------------------------|---------------------------------
E-------------------------------|---------------------------------

I consider that if you wanna play the Moonlight Sonata or anything from those German composers from the barroque, etc (Nowadays Études for learning how tap bass guitar technique) you should get the Piano score and try to find your OWN arragement. no matter how beautiful Stu plays it (NO harm meant towards Stu) Or how Josquin des Pres notes the Barroque, Classic pieces. YOU OUGHTA FIND HOW TO TAP OR PLAY THESE SONGS your own way, fingerings and such.
