Morpheus drop tune pedal?

Tried one on Saturday and I'll just say, "No." It sounds like butt when you run your bass through it. I just tried the Drop Tune but I assume the the Capo version sounds similar. It would be very cool to have an instant Eb tuned instrument, but not with the terrible tone.

I think there was a thread about this pedal like six months ago. Could have been something else, but I'm pretty sure it was the Morpheus.

The consensus was that it might work great for guitar, but not so much for bass.

Indeed, the guitarist in my covers band uses it, and it sounds fine to me. Then again, I've never heard it clean, he generally only uses it with heavy distortion. I never tried my bass on it.

Yeah I too tried one not more than a week ago and it sucked totally on bass. I usually spend a fair amount of time with pedals before I write them off completely, however this one was a def no go on bass.

Sounded very artificial and cheap. May sound better on guitar, but honestly If your looking to use the drop tune feature mostly I d put the 200 towards a new bass that you just tune down :D

I think it sounds great (on guitar) in the OP's linked youtube video.

I did a TB search. There are about five old Morpheus threads. Most state that on bass, it is "warbly" or "chorus-y" below guitar low E range.

Also, it's not new, although perhaps this is the newest version of the unit.
