Alembic is definitely in the running:
I like the look, but I'd get lost with all of those. I like volume and blend, and do everything else on the amp. I'm all about set-it-and-forget-it.

Hi!
I'm about to start building a bass with 2 pickups (neck/bridge) for each individual string.
After the pickup stage, there will be a separate preamp with bass/mid-freq/mid-vol/treble/pickup-blend/volume parameters for each individual pickup set.
This will equate to 24 knobs on the bass' body, and I am extending the body section to accomodate that (kind of like a 'stretched' out jazz-bass offset body section).
...This will be mostly a studio bass haha, and these options will allow maximum versatility of tone.
The bass will also have an individual output for each pickup (4), as well as a stereo mater output (2), with the ability to choose which pickups output from left and right stereo master outputs - or just mono (ie all p'ups left/right master stereo output), controlled via selector switch (4 x 3-way, labelled "pickup out", "Stereo left", "Stereo right"). 6 outputs in total.
...I'm thinking this bass will be called the "J.G. Spaghetti Junction".
