This thread reminded me of a juvenile prank that my friends and I pulled one day when I was a senior in high school. We lived in dorms at this school, and there were classrooms in another wing of the building. In my dorm room I had 2 big bass amps -- a Peavey Mark IV with a 2x15 cab, and an old Sunn Model T with a 6x10 cab. Somebody showed up with a cheap microphone with a 1/4 inch plug, so we connected the 2 amps and plugged in the mic, cranked the amps to "11", and then *flushed the toilet* with the mic a few inches away.![]()

We must have gotten about 125 decibels worth of toilet flush out of those amps!
That night everybody was talking about the weird mystery noise they heard during Physics class. We kept the truth to ourselves (because it was pretty easy to get kicked out of that school), but we had some good laughs over it in private.![]()
Dude....you should have farted into the microphone....![]()
Buzzing mosquitos right in your ear.
Good question, now that you mention it. I think closing the heavy old bathroom door was enough to keep the feedback from getting out of hand. It was 20 years ago, so the memory is a little cloudy. I mostly just remember how funny we thought it was. How'd you get the flushmic not to feed back massively?
