MOTU 24 I/O problems

Hi,

Just set up my new Soundcraft Ghost, MOTU 24I/O interface and Mac w/Logic 8.

However it seems I am receving no signal in the inputs of the MOTU interface from my mixing desk direct outputs. I have been testing with an SM57 into the mixing desk, which is receiving a signal, but the MOTU isn't. (I say it isn't because the LED meters on its front panel arent lighting up).

I have swapped the XLR out, the jack connecting my mixers direct outs to the MOTU's in's, and I have even done the whole thing on my old mixer to make sure it's not faulty mixer outputs. However I just can't seem to get any action from the LED's on the front panel of the MOTU.

Can anyone help?

If you just connect a mic to the 24I/O do you get a signal? You said you hooked up your old mixer, so I assume that didn't work either?

I don't know too much with the setup on the mac, but I think you have a Cuemix program to control the 24I/O. Possibly something is muted in the control program? Like on my Focusrite, when you power it up it auto mutes the output.

I don't have any experience with the 24I/O but I do have the 8Pre from MOTU, and it really is pretty plug and play, and I'd assume that yours should be the same. when I insert an input I get levels immediately without any software interface.

I haven't been using Cuemix, but I believe it's software for monitor mixes etc. and you shouldn't need to use it to get your interface up and running. The 8Pre came with it too, so I would think that if mine works without it, yours should too.
