MOURADIAN CS-74

I've been in touch with his son Jon about building a Reality, and though he said in the future he will do them in batches of 3 or 4 he sounded at the moment as if he is too busy.
I'm keen if someone wants to move on a Reality bass in good Nick.

Sad he's passed away without ever reviving his brilliant design. Hey @Growlyman I like the green bass a lot. I'm curious to know if you used an existing jazz body or cut your bass from a blank? did you have an actual bass to reference? If not I'm even more impressed you were able capture this flowing design so well. It would seem there's somewhat of an audience for this bass, I suppose the design is copyrighted but too bad they don't license it.

Thanks for the compliment. No, I've never had one in my hands, but I've got a eye for these sort of things, having been producing recreations of guitars for about 12 years now. These CS-74 basses are actually my first builds. Though I harvested the necks from another bass (I'm still not producing necks yet), I cut the bodies. I actually have two more going into production presently. One is already earmarked for a customer but the other will be available. Bit of a hold right now as the weather hasn't allowed me to do paint and finish, plus I'm busy in my *real* career presently. But ... soon man, soon!

Wow, I'm happy this thread came up again. I've been lusting over these basses since I saw Yes on the 90125 tour. Would love to have one, but afraid the expense would be way over my head.

The bass is mostly finished … it looks good and plays good.

The body is all maple, the neck is all maple, it is wired like a 1990s 4003, no cap and 250k ohm pots. The neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan quarter pounder, and the bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan hot jazz single coil. The electronics cover plate is zebra wood.
