i was a rhapsody member for over a decade when they were bought by napster. when napster bought them, all my playlists remained. then we discovered that amazon music, when paid for yearly, was cheaper and also would allow several family members to use it. after the free trial, we decided to go with a year of amazon.

since then i've been gradually going to napster in one browser, amazon in the other, and copying songs from one to the other. after 15 or more years, i have a very long listening playlist plus a covers playlist, bass playlist, holiday playlist, drumming playlist and more. it's taking forEVER. i spent 3 1/2 hours today on it and i'm not even close to done - it's like a freaking job *LOL*

has anyone else every done this? if so, you have my sympathies!

I stopped doing that crap for like you said it takes forever and I always make mistakes.

Now I make one or two playlists, listen to it, and if a song doesn't jive with me I just remove it from the list.

Also I sold 90% of the my CD's the other day for my tastes completely changed. He was only interested in about 20% of the CD's. But was able to sell him the rest. I practically gave them away but considering I had them for about 2 decades (on most CD's) I see no big deal. It's really only Vinyl that something would be worth money and no chance of me having it.

it does take forever, although the only one that's taken over an hour and a half is my main listening playlist. so far, it's taken over 6 hours  but this morning i did finish it. there's i think twelve zillion songs on it :D and i did remove a few as my tastes have changed.

my cds are mostly in a box with some dessicant packs in the garage. my vinyl... well, i lost it, scratched it or gave it away. my husband still has his collectible stuff, but we have nothing to play them on :D
