This morning I sanded the body faces. Final shape is drawn but not sanded yet. After breakfast I shaped the headstock, tapered the neck and glued the headstock.

There’s a hole in your scroll!
Just big enough to store the undeveloped photo film from the Roswell autopsy. That's the secret Tone Chamber. It has to be just the right size to resonate at the right frequency. Marko's got it.
Now that I have the headstock end sorted I’m working with the heel end. How thick should the finished neck heel be and what depth should I route the neck pocket? My plans show 28.5mm thickness (neck and fingerboard) and 9.5mm pocket depth. That would leave the strings very high from the top of the body. That's the secret Tone Chamber. I love seeing a scroll bass come to life!![]()
Tonight I measured, marked and saw the fret position marks on the side of the fretboard. I used fret saw with depth stop at the side.

Then I glued the marks with CA. I used 0,5mm x 2mm binding plastic as marks.

While the CA was hardening I made a template for neck pocket, drilled the pocket with Forstner bit, routed the pocket to 15mm depth and marked and drilled the neck screw holes.
