So a friend of mine asked me to look at his Mti era SVT. It has been sitting for years with a Standby switch issue. And when I mean years, I mean years, in a woodshop nonetheless.. Not sure if it's even a runner, but this is the first obvious stop.
Needless to say, this guy wasn't getting fired up any time soon, or it would literally be Fired up. It was dirty mess inside and I'm pretty certain sawdust is not great with tubes.
Hand in pocket checked the Caps just in case, all safe and drained. Obviously this amp is no joke. (could prob use a recap but that's another day)
As for the Stand by switch, it wasn't a correct switch, nor was it even wired correctly.
I'm planning on throwing in a SPST Carling for the standby which is pretty much straight forward.
However, and here's my question, does anyone know how the standby lamp is supposed to be wired in, as the wires were just floating loose. Unless I'm blind I haven't seen it on any of the other schematics and it appears that the Mti's were a bit different build wise?
