I bought a MTI era svt head and love it. My 6c4 tube is making some noise so I took it apart to replace it. I noticed the preamp section currently has 12DW7 tubes installed.
However on the underside of the preamp it has a sticker showing all 12ax7's except for the 6c4 tube.
I know some MTI's were shipped with the original design equipped with the 12DW7's and later on the switched to different tubes due to availability. So my question is how do I tell if my amp is currently setup to use the 12DW7's and the previous owner didn't just shove to wrong preamp tubes in it.
