Multi Effects for Cover Band?!

I think he was jealous cause he always brags how he will never go digital and
That his gear sounds awesome.. Then my digital pedal wowed him. Hahaha

Ah I see. your guitarist prefers analog effects over digital effects. I've once read that some bass players prefer digital effects because they sound more cleaner than analog effects. I've been using digital effects for a long time and they always sound pretty cool to me.

I've been using a zoom b2 since they came out... it works well for me! The tuner is good, and you can get a lot of usefull sounds out of it. I never worried if an ampeg simulation was perfect. If it sounds good I'll use it LOL. besides, John/Jane Doe doesn't know the difference, unless it sucks! I only use 6 settings...the KISS principle!

I've been using the same Zoom Bass multi effect pedal for that past 5 years. Like any piece of electronic equipment, you first must read the instruction manual to become enlightened and empowered. In our world of playing Bass Guitar, you've got to keep it simple because the best tone you are ever going to get is when you plug a good bass guitar into a good amp and you know how to use both!

I'm using a Zoom B2 for covers, works well if you're willing to spend the time creating patches because to me the stock ones sounded crap. Singles pedals wouldn't work for me without spending lots on duplicate pedals or changing settings between songs.

I use the Line 6 Bass Pod XT in my band. I like it as it gives me alot of great tone options and the effects are not overkill. The only issue I have is there is no octave effect in it. This is a major bummer for me as I would have loved to have an octave up or down to help with some synthy lines.

Other than that, it's an awesome unit. I'm hoping Line 6 debutes a Bass Pod HD at NAMM this year.

I realize this is a reboot of this almost a year dead thread but..
Kind of discouraging that everyone (but 2 posters) ignored the signal flow question, and I think that's the biggest question here.. I go back and forth between stomp boxes and multi's.. With the stomp boxes I use certain pedals in line and certain pedals through the loop. Maybe that's not an option with a multi. I'm about to pick up a gt-10b after trials and plenty of research on here and I find that question very important. Of coarse I (and we all) should experiment on our owne to come to our owne conclusion but, I figure this could be a really good conversation on what the pros and cons are for either approach?
