Multi Instrument Stands

Hey guys,
I tried searching for some older threads because i figured this had to have been a topic at least once but most of the threads i found had links that where outdated and it was hard to follow who was saying things about what stand.

I am looking for an instrument stand that holds about 5 Instruments. I have 3 basses and a guitar in my house but most of the time il just have my two main basses on it. I want to be able to let my guitar player throw his instruments on there if he needs to though.

I was looking at these two:

Is it worth the money to get the second one? I dont really see any advantage to getting it and i think the first one is a little more pleasing to the eyes haha. My main concern with the first one is will it be sturdy? I want to make sure the instruments aren't super crowded either. Are there any other stands I should look into? I will probably just go with a warwick stand but does anyone have any experience making their own stand?

we have one in out practice space and never have a problem with it.

Yea i should have mentioned I want one that I can put up next to the wall. That one wont work just because id have to get up and reach around the back of it to get a bass off.

By the way what was wrong with the first one? I read a lot of reviews where people say they work great and others where people thought it was garbage.

Quik-Lok makes the best. I have a 3-spacer and a 2-spacer. Best part is, they have nice castors on them. It's so cool to be able to move your whole set of basses with a push. I have 2 guitars and 3 basses, so I bought a 2 and 3. If I take 2 basses to a gig, I bring the super small 2 spacer only. Everyone who sees it loves it.

The problem I found with the Warwick stands was my basses sat really close to the floor on the Warwick stands and my basses had side input jacks. Because of this, straight 1/4 " cables had to be unplugged or they rubbed against the floor. This can be resolved with right angle cables, or wireless. Also, this definitely isn't an issue with top mounted input jacks; re: Fender, which I use now.

Also, the warwick stands aren't very compact, not a problem at home, but can be when transporting.

Just my experience. I use a Hercules Duo stand now.

I love the idea of casters actually. I dont know why i never thought of that before on a stand.

Put 'em in the Warwick stand backwards with the jacks facing outward. They fit a whole lot better.

To each their own...

I have had the Warwick stand for a few years and love it. I have between 4 and 7 basses/guitars on it 7x24x365.

Buy the 5 "acoustic guitar" model though. It gives you more space and will actually hold 9 basses.

For gigs I use a 2 guitar Hercules locking stand.

How about one of these????

I've got one of these (made by Stagg), cost me about £ 17.00 and will hold up to 6 basses or guitars. You can remove the central part (as I have) to allow it to hold just 3 basses.

There you go, very cheap, sturdy and effective. You do need to think carefully where you put it on stage though as you need access all around it. When collapsed it is about the same length as a mic stand.
