murphy's oil soap

Question:
I have a neck-thru 5 string active bass. Its walnut and maple
with a natural finish and mother of pearl inlays in the shape of a dragon and rose wood fingerboard...I was wondering if i could use murphys oil soap to clean the body and the back of the neck
and if not what could i use..

thanks

I did on one of my natural finish basses. Not sure if it is recomended or not. Did not seem to hurt mine. Only did it when I first bought it from a pawn shop. It was all grimmy. It cleaned up well, then I went over it with Tung oil per a woodcraft shop
