Music Man Pickup in Soapbar?

I have a Schecter Stiletto Studio 4 that I love the feel of, but I really don't like the sound of it. I would much rather have something that has a MM sound/feel, but I haven't been able to find soapbar pickup that captures that sound. I also know that the preamp is a large proponent of the sound but am unsure if they make one that would fit the control layout of the Stiletto bass, 5 knobs total. Have you guys managed to find any gear that can get nail the sound or even get me in the ballpark of it?

*Before everyone says to just get a Stingray, which would be my ideal option, my wife bought me the Stiletto. She would be PISSED if I never play it and even more if I were to sell it to get a Stingray

They emg 35 size? They look like it. Check out Nordstrand's options. They've got a few soapbuckers to choose from. You want less bass, huge mids, and colorful character.

Looks like the big rigs might be a good shot at the tone you want.

Wire them in series too. That'll push your mids.

Then you got these. Look like standard buckers to me. Again, series. That'll push your mids.

Another thing that affects the sound is the location of the pickup. So, if you take a out the pickup of a Stingray and install it around your bridge pickup route your Schecter might not give you 'the Stingray sound' you seek.

East make a 3 band musicman pre that is supposed to be quite good. Its comes in 3 knobs (2 stacked) or 4 knobs (1 stacked). perhaps they can make one for you with 5 knobs (none stacked) or just have one producer knob.

Maybe ask nordstrand if they can squeeze a custom MM type pickup into an emg35 shell. The change in dimensions might mean that it won't sound right though. Or have the bass routed to fit musicman shaped pickups.
