Musicians Are From Jupiter, Engineers Are From Saturn

Yeah. Put a mic in front of it and do your best to make the room sound like that and if the musicians have half a clue about their own stage mix your FOH will be very close to what it needs to be. The problems do indeed start when the musicians are clueless and/or the engineers arrogant twats. Doesn't help when he can't remember humming a bass line.

The article basically promotes communication to all groups of people involved in the performance. Well, duh! Communication SHOULD solve everything, but it really comes down to all parties ACTUALLY listening and implementing what was said. Unfortunately, stubbornness, and "that's how I have always done it" seems to reign supreme. When all parties communicate though, it's an amazing feeling. You forget about your bass tone and enjoy hearing your band mates and enjoy playing music.
