Gator Case.jpg

Just picked up one of these cases at almost half price. For those of us who like hard cases.

Just received notification that it shipped. Got to admit, when MF is on track, they do a good job. I used to order a lot of stuff from them. Then they did me wrong a couple of times so I switched back to Sweetwater, who I'm currently buying most of my stuff from. I guess every one has their off days.

I notice that this is model number G-FP-TSA-BASS-V2. The version at other vendors (like Sweetaqua) is GTSA-GTRBASS. I tried to find a comparison, since the "V2" isn't listed on Gator's website. My search engine's AI said the GTSA-GTRBASS was made with a higher quality shell, but we all know you can't trust the AI.

I did find this quote from an un-vetted source: "That case is garbage. It isn’t made of the normal sturdy plastic Gator uses. It’s cheap lighter stuff and it is not sturdy enough for a flight despite the name."
( Official MWGL 2026 Stoopid Dealz Thread..... )

Ah, indecision.

Well, I guess I'm going to find out in a few days.

Yep! Just to close the loop for people searching the forums in the future*, I did get one of these G-FP-TSA-BASS-V2's on the Stupid Deal of the Day. It fits my Lakland 55-02 (with Straploks) like a glove. I don't know that I'd trust it for baggage handlers throwing it in the cargo hold of an airplane, like a "real" flight case. But it's plenty sturdy for banging in the back of the truck with other band gear. Definitely a worthy purchase at that discount.

*After acquiring the Lakland, I scoured the forums for info on a good case for it. This one fits better than I anticipated based on some of that feedback.
