Musicians Relief Fund??

Status
Not open for further replies.
To any talkbass member who contributed to the Musicians Relief Fund on my behalf, I apologize. Your money did not go towards what it was intended. I have no idea how the money you kindly donated was used.

I can't help feeling completely used, violated, and disgusted that my name and my life were used in this manner.

I'm curious who the money went to then.

Seeing as how the relief fund was made so public, the thread for it being regularly bumped for as much exposure as possible by MikeW, I'm wondering why everything now is silent. A list of who was helped and exactly how much each received would at least give contributors some reassurance.

I was unaware of any possible involvement of Mike Fredericks in the creation and/or operation of the Musician's Reflief Fund. Consequently, I have never contact him about any of this.

I was asked if I would like to be involved after it's inception. I was not a part of the creation. Well, maybe because of what was done.
But from what I was lead to understand, the thought process want like I laid it out before.
As I said before, I'm not officially connected to it in any way or form.
I'm just a supporter if all is square and a friend of Mike's as long as he is honest about this.
So far he hasn't lead me to believe anything is goofy. But, I think I need to press into this.

Honestly, Jeff I don't recall your name coming up. At least not to me anyway.

Wow

Thanks for your words, Jeff.

Yeah, THANK YOU very much.

I agree 100%.
But such disclosure should be done either via PM or e-mail.

Just IMO.

Wow. Things are getting sketchier by the minute. Nice Mike W.

Hmm, Mike seems to be banned for some reason.

lowsound

Things like Peter Parker's comment, albeit a bit more personal and more dragging the thread more OT and down paths where people could/did get upset, lead Mike to be banned. Because of his actions as well.
I don't know all the details as to what was said, by whom and all that, but go back and take a look at the posts in the thread to see where it took a left turn.

(Not flaming you Peter, just needed an example and yours was just right there- harmless really. Thats just your point of view. It's all good)

Actually, I remember that specifically. I sold a DI to a student
at Berklee as I wasn't using it. He was poor so he paid me in 2 installments. The funds, totalling around 100 dollars, were then sent to Big Mike W. That is a Fact. IIRC I had the student pay the balance directly to BMW.

I made the donation so Jeff would be the beneficiary. According to his above statement, he never benefited in any way from my donation.

This is the FS Thread in Accessories.

Note that I specifically state the purpose of the charity sale and the beneficiary.

Re the bolded quote above, I supect that while banned you can't post or access PM's. Don't know about email as I have never been banned.

Personally, given that the funds did not reach their intended destination,
I would like to be apprised of what was done with
them. Whether by PM or email, or posted here. I will not really consider
the issue resolved until Mike W shows some transparency on this, whenever
that may be.

Merely stating the funds were disbursed and are now exhausted
is not an accounting or explanation I personally find acceptable
under the circumstances.

So, Mike W, if you would PM me or email me when you can with that info,
or post it here, please do so.

Thanks for stepping up and getting the wheels rolling Tom!! If it weren't for your involvement and communication back and forth with me on the progress I would probably be raging mad.

I think Jeff's post speaks volumes about who is and isn't returning PM's regardless of what they say here.

by the way, here is an interesting thread...I have many saved links and other things of interest in my emails.

Check out post # 8

"Not only did a I donate a nice chunk to Mike Fredericks but I also did so to Jeff's cause."

things like this make me question what people are saying and what is really happening. i MIGHT be misinterpreting what jeff said but it sure seems like he said that he has received nothing.

I'm not one to try and start things but I do not like being given the run around or being flat out lied to. I just don't see how someone can sleep at night knowing they have many peoples money in their hands thinking that it is going to good use yet it sits there for a year with little to no progress. Now that it is in Tom Bowlus' hands I have the utmost confidence that he will give us updates on progress that many people would like to see.

I have the utmost respect for every TB'er on here until they give me a reason to question what they are doing is right or wrong. This is my last post, I'm unfortunately so sick of the back and forth arguing and flat out lies that people are being caught in within this whole deal it had definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I have tried and tried to push this cause since noone else aside from myself and tombowlus has regularly been trying to do this. It really makes me never want to donate again to something like this.

Best of luck to the foundation and anyone who may be helped by it, this year....next year...or in ten years. Here's to hoping you can get the help you need, when you need it.

fyi, I really didn't want to say this but some people may be curious why I'm so interested in pushing this charity along and since it's my last post on this i thought I might as well say it......I donated $400 to the charity.... Keep in mind I too have no insurance or benefits at my place of work and make around $25,000 a year. I sold an eden head here on TB and my heart led me to believe that donating to the charity was the right thing to do at the time.

If you would like to contact me or ask me anything PM me, I am not reading this thread anymore. It's full of negativity and has gotten so far off track of the "charity" state of mind it's ridiculous. I would love to lock the thread but I do not have the option to do this in this forum.

Thanks and God Bless
