It's a '78... 42 years old... like it or not, that fits the definition of "vintage"... I feel your pain... my first "real" bass was, you guessed it, a '78 Musicmaster back in '80!!

This was one of my first basses back in 1972. I wish I still had it. I have no idea what happened to it?
As others have said, keep it and have any issues addressed as needed for playability.
Despite the gear heads that poo-poo these, they're great basses!

this all day long. i am a gear head, have a 69 fender jazz i've toured the world with. my musicmaster is a wonderful sounding and playing instrument, i'm shocked they can be had for that cheap for a vintage fender.
